Downtown Oak Park has its own personality and it is now on full display with the Oak Park’s Marvelous Mini Murals. Transforming what was once barren railroad Viaducts, these works of public art are as diverse and interesting as the individuals who make up the city. Each one, just like the people, has a story to tell and together they form a large, cohesive thing of beauty.
The Riverside Arts Center + Freeark Gallery offers both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Sometimes edgy, this art venue is not afraid of taking risks. The Arts Center also holds several special events each year for people to buy works from local Artists and classes for budding artist.
Since 1921, the Oak Park Art League has been offering classes, mentoring artists and providing gallery space for local artists. The variety and quality they offer make it a destination for many.
