Black History Bus Tour

Black History Bus Tour

Oak Park River Forest Museum is teaming up with Visit Oak Park to offer two local bus tours this fall. Sunday, November 10 will be a Black History Tour, leaving from OPRF Museum at 1:30 p.m. The route will pass by significant locations in Oak Park, River Forest and Maywood as a trained guide narrates the story of Black Americans and their contributions in the near west suburbs.

On Sunday, Nov. 24, we will feature stops in front of the homes and sites associated with some of our Hometown Legends. Think of it as the Oak Park-River Forest version of a Hollywood homes tour. See where Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, grew up and where Ray Kroc, founder of McDonald’s, lived and went to school.
