Thomas is an excellent host and he thought of all the little details: snacks, coffee, toiletries--all the little things that a traveler might want. There's a nice space to work, comfortable beds, and spacious bathroom. We had everything that we needed, and it was very peaceful. We'd definitely stay here again!
Possible negatives: the entrance is in the back of the house, and there's not a path or lighting to get around to the back; it's a hill and when the ground is wet/muddy, it can be a little slippery. We were comfortable knowing we were in the right place because of the pictures. The heater might be inadequate to warm the main room up when it's very cold outside; it was good enough to keep it from being chilly though. Finally, there were quite a few harmless stink bugs inside. It has been a problem in Illinois for years, so it's no fault of the host--but if that "bugs" you, it might not be the right place for you. These minor things were not enough to detract from our enjoyment!
