Franklin Park

Historically a railroad town with intersecting rail lines traveling through the Village, Franklin Park was founded by Lessor Franklin in 1892. The town features a railroad park that boasts a 110-year old B-12 switching tower that is still under renovation as a future museum of rail memorabilia. Franklin Park sponsors a "Railroad Day" celebration showcasing vintage rail cars from various rail lines such as Metra, Canadian Pacific, and Amtrak. We also have a caboose, built in 1929 that sits on this site. Franklin Park is also very proud of its Veteran's Memorial that bears over 1000 names of men and women who have served in the armed forces.
