Hillside
The Village of Hillside, incorporated in 1905, covers over three square miles. Widely known for it’s cemeteries, the village is a thriving community for the living. Both Mount Carmel and Queen of Heaven Cemeteries are located here and each October the mayor hosts a tour of them where you can see the gravesites of numerous Chicago notables. Many of Chicago’s Gangsters are laid to rest here along with all of the Bishops and Cardinals who led the Archdiocese of Chicago. Each Summer, Hillside comes alive with Summer Nights in the Commons. Running through July and August, this outdoor concert series includes a cruise night filled with classic cars, a marketplace to shop for local and handmade items and a concert under the stars.
