Yappy Social Hour

June 1, 2023

Bring your prized pooch for social hour on the lawn at Cheney Mansion. Happy Together Art Exhibit

Local artists design and paint 30 colorful friendship benches for display on the sidewalks in front of La Grange businesses as part of an annual public art exhibit, this year presented by the Park District of La Grange. This years theme, called Happy Together – Where Friendships Grow, invites residents and visitors to appreciate the beauty of friendship and celebrate the differences that make all of us unique.

Thursday Night Out

Downtown Oak Park’s popular dine-around series Thursday Night Out is back! Thursday Night Out runs every Thursday June 1st to August 31st from 5 to 9pm. Downtown Oak Park restaurants offer a variety of drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts on the Thursday Night Out menu and allow diners to eat inside or carry out. Tables are also set up outside for patrons to enjoy dining al fresco.

La Grange Farmers Market

The La Grange Farmers Market will run rain or shine every Thursday 7 am - 1 pm through October and will feature 30 local and regional small batch vendors. It's located on Harris Avenue between La Grange Road and Sixth Avenue. Convenient free parking is available nearby. The market will provide fruits, vegetables, flowers, breads and other items. The juicy produce is picked the day before you buy it, when it's ripe and ready to eat.

River Front Fest

La Grange Pet Parade

The 76th annual parade walks through downtown La Grange stepping off at 9:30am and is a route of approximately 1.5 miles. Along the parade route, there are four street announcing stations. This tradition is one of the most talked about parades of Chicagoland. It draws tens of thousands of people to the area. The Pet Parade provides fun and entertainment for the entire family!

Oak Park Farmers' Market

The Oak Park Farmers’ Market will be held from 7am to 1pm every Saturday from May 20 through October! The Market is located in the Pilgrim Church parking lot, one block west of Ridgeland Avenue. Come early and don't miss the fan-favorite Donuts (often sell out before noon). Market patrons can sit at a table and enjoy fresh donuts while listening to live bluegrass music provided by local musicians.

Brookfield Farmers' Market

The Brookfield Farmers Market located on the west side of Brookfield Village Hall. They are entering their 16th season in 2023. A Day In Our Village

Riverside Farmer's Market

Franklin Park Fest

You will be guided by Dr. Nancy Sindelar, author of Influencing Hemingway: The People and Places That Shaped His Life and Work. Included with the tour is a copy of the book, Influencing Hemingway.

Vintage Car Show

Museum Crawl

Snakes Alive!

The Hillside Youth Commission is hosting a Reptile Show in the Village Board Room. The reptile show consists of a 60-75 minute presentation. Explore the prehistoric world of reptiles and amphibians and see how they have been able to survive since the age of the dinosaurs as well as why they are important to the world we live in. The reptile show gives audiences an up-close encounter with some of the planet's oldest and scaliest creatures.

German Fest Forest Park

Join us at the Forest Park Picnic Grove for the 7th annual German Fest! The origin of Forest Park German Fest goes back to 1965 when the Harlem Männerchor and the Forest Park Damenchor started a small Oktoberfest in Forest Park. In the 90's the event went away but in 2015 it was decided to have a festival in Spring and so the first new “German Fest” took place! You'll find over 20 vendors selling German food and beverages while you bask in wonderful live music.

Ancient Vine

American Music Festival

Born in 1981, FitzGerald's American Music Festival has grown from a three-band barbecue night to a critically acclaimed four day affair drawing thousands of music lovers each year.  With a particular nod to both New Orleans, LA and Austin, TX this celebration of Roots Music and backyard cooking serves die-hard music fans, families, and foodies alike.
