The Home and Studio is the birthplace of Wright’s vision for a new American architecture. This world-renowned complex served as Wright’s private residence and studio from 1889 to 1909--the first 20 years of his career. Wright used his home as an
architectural laboratory, trying out design concepts before sharing them with
clients. In the adjacent Studio, Wright and his associates created the Prairie style. The neighborhood surrounding
the Home and Studio has the highest concentration of Wright buildings in the world.
